Wild Weekend

Just an hour and a half's drive to the East Sussex coastal town of Eastbourne is where I go if I want to have a wicked weekend.
Eastbourne is renowned for its aged population, so you would not expect someone to go there for a wicked time. I am lucky to have family in Eastbourne, namely my little brother David. David is 39 going on 18 so he knows where to go and what to do to have fun.
I was in Eastbourne at the weekend and David said there was a Battle of the Bands going on at the beach, so I thought I had best go alone and give them my support.
As usual, I can’t go and watch a band without letting go and having a dance. As I am short compared to many people, I had to find a vantage point where I could see the performers and show my appreciation of their work. Because people were busy watching the bands, nobody was using the tables, so there was my vantage point and it would have been rude not to use it!
Everybody seems to have a camera on them these days and they catch many things they would not usually catch, i.e. Nutters on tables dancing. I just could not resist dancing, especially after a few beers when inhibitions just disappear. Mind you, I would have ended up dancing up there even if I had not had a few beers.
By the end of the day I was told that so many people had taken photos of me dancing on the table because they had never seen anyone as old as me doing it.
I’m not having it that I am the only person my age that gets up and appreciates music and shows it by dancing wherever they can!

The young lady on the table next to me was a total stranger to me, but it was great to have someone else there enjoying sun and sounds just like me.

  1. Yep, you fixed it! You and I are a lot alike Martyn... We both have really up times and then some down ones.. I think it's a way to recharge myself.
I feel the same way about dancing and am known to be on a few table tops as well. It depends on my mood at the time if I need a little 'courage in a bottle'...lol.
I love the photos ...... and it really looks like a great time!

  2. Yeah it was a great time, but I also have payback time for all that excessive movement. My neck has been giving me loads of problems this week and two out of the last three days I have been having dizzy spells virtually all day. Thanks for the comment! X

  3. Aww.. Damn, I hate that! I did the same thing once, dancing to Santana and too much tequila the next day I could hardly move my neck.. it was so bad.
Hope you feel better soon.... if not maybe you should see your doc. Dizzy spells could be so many things.
